Red started his training to be a Search & Rescue K-9 at the age of 4 months, Red trains several hours each week in both man-trailing and decomposition. He has attended man-trailing seminars in Cody Wyoming hosted by the National Blood Training Institute and Scottsville Texas hosted by the Shreveport Fire Department K-9 Search and Rescue Unit. Currently Red attends training sessions with Jefferson County Sheriffs Department Bloodhound K-9 unit.

Capabilities:

Red is a scent discriminating trailing Bloodhound.

Red is able to trail in an urban environment as well as wilderness.

Red is also trained in Decomposition work (Human Remains Detection).

Availability:

Elizabeth Fire Protection District’s Search& Rescue K-9 is available to Police, Sheriff, and Fire agencies upon request as mutual aid through Elbert County Dispatch with approval of EFPD command staff.
